Okay, let’s go back to the Peach House for a moment because we really loved it there and keep talking about it, and I kind of wish I could live there. Or build a house just like it in G-Rap. One of my favorite things about the house is the little alcoves and the shelves in each room. I am a hoarder, and I need plenty of space to store my stuff. I also loved the contrasting paint colors.
Above the kitchen entryway. Perfect for an icon of St. Euphrosynos, or perhaps some kitchen items that don’t get used too often. OR kitchen things that do get used often, and you could keep a step stool in that closet in the background. So many options.
In front of the kitchen window (one of my favorite spots in the house), there’s plenty of space for frequently used items like olive oil, fresh garlic, and lemon. Also, because the kitchen is small, it worked well for the dish drainer. It was big enough to have the dish drainer over to one side without the water getting on the food items.
I think this blurry little guy, of which there was one on each side, is maybe more for aesthetics than utility, although I’m not sure, but I think it’s just the right size for very small icons or pictures. There was one on each side of the entryway from the kitchen to the living/dining room area.
I hope Carole doesn’t mind, but in my room is my collection of Tinoan marble and other pretty rocks I found during our adventures. I decided I couldn’t really bring them all home…they were kind of heavy.
Anyway, it just goes to show you can use these little alcoves for just about anything.
