So last week I went to Marie’s for Vegan Dog Day, of course. I saved the second hotdog for my lunch Thursday, but I ended up eating it for breakfast so I could go back to Marie’s for lunch again. Why?
The burger, like pretty much everything on the menu, was huge. It featured gingered carrot & kale slaw with green curry peanut sauce. I would’ve never thought to put peanut sauce on a beet burger, but it was delicious. It also had a good dose of the standard garlic vegenaise, as seen below.
The burger wasn’t the kind that’s just a fat slice of marinated beet. I’m not sure what was in it, but something gave it a great crunchy texture on the outside. My goodness. I need to try making some of these things at home, but on the other hand, I want to support Marie’s. But I’m going to go broke. But it’s so worth it.
